Website

Individual HTML (or perhaps XHTML) files exposed on the Internet that are displayed in a browser when someone visits the website by typing its URL in a web browser on a computer or mobile device.

The website may be located either on a local computer or on a remote server. On the server, the website can be either private (for example, a company intranet) or public, available to the whole internet.

Web pages can consist of static text, images, videos, various dynamic and interactive elements, or a combination of all. Web pages also usually contain links (links, hyperlinks) to their subpages or other pages on the Internet. Links can also lead to the download of various files (audio, video, documents…).

The layout, typography and colours are taken care of by so-called Cascading Style Sheets (CSS, Cascading Style Sheets). These can either be embedded in the HTML itself, or they can exist in a separate file that is referenced from the HTML.

How to create a web page? Either with a text editor, a dedicated html editor, or with various simple web services that do not require programming or html knowledge. The already created web pages are then uploaded to the server using FTP.

If you are interested in a simple site without the need for hosting, you may consider the Speed Pages service we offer, which is free.
