Spambot

Spambot is an automated computer program designed to send unsolicited mail – spam. Most spambots create fake e-mail accounts through which they send spam. In some cases, spammers can crack a user's password and use the user's e-mail account to send spam.

Spambots can be categorized into several main (most common) types:

• email spambot
• Twitter spambot
• forum spambot

An email spambot collects users' email addresses and then sends spam to them in bulk. It is the most common form of spambot, and spam accounts for the vast majority of emails sent today.

Twitter spambot is a ?bot? (short for bot) that sets up fake accounts on the social network Twitter and harasses regular Twitter users with them. Most often these are erotic offers, internet marketing, contests.
