Javascript

JavaScript is a dynamic multiplatform scripting language that is most commonly used today for WWW pages as an interpreted programming language. JavaScript originated in 1995 and was redesigned by Brendan Eich. JavaScript supports imperative, functional and object-oriented programming styles.

JavaScript is implemented in web browsers, where it is most often used to enhance the user interface and to create dynamic web pages. JavaScript is also widely used in desktop widgets or PDF documents.

The original name under which JavaScript was created was Mocha. Mocha was subsequently renamed to LiveScript, until it was eventually renamed to JavaScript, mainly due to its inspiration from the Java programming language.
